We say things like “God helps those who help themselves,” “God needed another angel,” “Everything happens for a reason,” and “God won’t give you more than you can handle.” During this series we’ll explore the “almost” Christians things we say.
We Can Do More Together…when we surrender.
When we think of doing more together, most of us think of a team - and we think of dominating. Winning. In our world today, we say, “Never let them see you bleed/sweat”. What a contrast to Jesus shedding his blood.
The first Christians gathered around one vision: invite people to worship, connect, and serve our neighbors together. This simple vision worked! It overcame political and social differences people had. People set aside their personal preferences—Jews, and Gentiles and slaves all gathered together—because they realized that in Christ we can do more together!
